Women and American Politics: The 19th Amendment and After

Powered by Research Commons at University LibrariesStarting in 2015, the Interdisciplinary Dialogues have addressed such important issues as income inequality, immigration, social media and elections, and sex and gender in academia. Please note that all Fall 2020 events will be held virtually via Zoom. Registrants will receive an event link in their confirmation email.

As 2020 marks the 19th Amendment's 100th anniversary  and the presidential election draws near, the University Libraries presents a panel examining and celebrating the role of women in politics. Join us as we explore women's civic participation in the US, delve into public memory, and take a look at the history of how we got here and where we are going.

We are excited to present an interdisciplinary panel featuring:

Dr. Jessica Enoch, Professor, Department of English
Dr. Robyn Leigh Muncy, Professor, Deptartment of History
Dr. Linda Steiner, Professor, College of Journalism, Director of ADVANCE
Dr. Carly Woods, Assistant Professor, Deptartment of Communication

With a brief commenary from Laura Cleary and Amber Kohl of Special Collections University Archives on their online exhibition Get out the Vote: Suffrage and Disenfranchisement.
