Georeferencing and Digitizing in ArcGIS Pro
Event box
Data Science/GIS workshop series is powered by GIS and Data Service Center, and Research Education at University Libraries. This workshop series offers introductory to advanced level skills in GIS, Data Science, Data Visualization among others.
This workshop series offers an introduction to georeferencing–assigning geographic coordinates to points on a scanned image–and digitizing–tracing features on a physical map and converting them to digital points, lines, and polygons. These techniques help us bring historical maps and imagery into GIS, enabling further data manipulation and analysis. The workshop will be conducted in ArcGIS Pro, consisting of an outline of georeferencing and digitizing and their applications and followed by a hands-on demo.
UMD Libraries welcomes individuals with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities.
