AI in the Classroom: Ethical Engagement, Attribution, and Disclosure
Event box
Research Education at University Libraries workshops equip researchers with the tools, concepts, and skills needed for every stage of the research lifecycle.
Generative AI tools are rapidly reshaping our teaching and learning, but navigating the ethical and responsible use can be challenging for both students and faculty. This workshop introduces practical strategies for incorporating AI transparently into the classroom. Participants will explore UMD’s Guidelines for Use of AI and the UMD Libraries’ AI and Information Literacy Guide, learn about citation resources for responsibly crediting AI contributions, and discuss approaches to encouraging disclosure in classroom contexts. Attendees will also receive a ready-to-use Gen AI disclosure quiz that can be imported directly into their courses to spark conversation and reflection within your learning community.
