Practical Magic: Evaluating Urban Legends Through an Information Literacy Lens

Research Education at University Libraries workshops equip researchers with the tools, concepts, and skills needed for every stage of the research lifecycle.

Who you gonna call? McKeldin Library Ghostbusters! This library workshop will explore local urban legends such as the infamous Goat Man as well as lesser known haunts around campus. You’ll learn how to evaluate popular sources–from Reddit to Tiktok to that chain email forwarded to you from your great uncle–and add myth-busting to your information literacy tool kit.
